This initiative is led and funded by the Ministry of Transportation and the Israel Ports Company, in conjunction with Ashdod Port Company and the Israel Road Transport Board.
The purpose of the initiative, which began a few years ago, is to fully maximize the potential of the port's infrastructure during all hours of the day, while offering an operational advantage to exporters and importers. The initiative contributes to reducing the number of trucks and to shortening the wait time, which leads to less traffic during the day and a reduction in air pollution.
Ashdod Port Company is proud to continue to lead a revolution in container transportation with a plan that has proven to be beneficial to all involved, and we will continue to strive to find solutions for constant improvement of the ongoing day-to-day operations of the port.
During the pilot program, which will be in effect for several months until the end of 2019, we will extend the hours of eligibility for the grant for transporting full containers to and from the ports. To this point, a monetary grant was offered in the amount of ILS 100, for transportation of containers from 10:00 p.m. until 5:59 a.m. only. Expansion of the initiative includes a grant of ILS 60, for transportation from 6:00 p.m. until 7:59 p.m., and a grant in the amount of ILS 80 from 8:00 p.m. until 9:59 p.m.
