Roi Avrahami, Chief of Staff of the Port's Board of Directors, represented Ashdod Port when he delivered a fascinating lecture on the technological revolution that Ashdod Port is currently undergoing. As part of the port innovation program, 22 startups were selected to promote and support pilots of their product in the port area, in order to offer innovative technological solutions to existing problems in the ports and shipping sector. In addition, Roi explained how this provided an opportunity to combine the State of Israel's strengths – the startup nation and the cyber nation - at Ashdod Port, the port of Israel.
Two representatives of startup companies that are presently operating at the Port – Deep Trading and Docktech – also participated in the lecture and shared their experiences implementing technology at the Port.
Over 1,000 of the most talented developers, architects and inspiring speakers from the fields of advanced technology, platforms, services and new trends participated in the conference.
Ashdod Port' CEO Shiko Zana explains: “Ashdod Port, the main artery of the Israeli economy, is one of the State of Israel's strategic sites, and the ability to integrate technology that protects us from global challenges is critical. The successful integration of the startups from the first round of the innovation program in the Port's activity demonstrates their value and the need for innovation in the maritime sector. As we progress with the second round of this program, we remain committed to continued efforts to make the Port one of the world leaders in seaport innovation, and we invite entrepreneurs and startups to propose ideas and inventions for the next round of the innovation program."
