Minister of Transportation, Miri Regev, participated in the inauguration of largest crane in operation at Israel’s ports

Minister Regev toured the port with Port Chairperson, Orna Hozman-Bechor and CEO Shiko Zana. During the tour, the Port Chairperson presented the Ashdod Port’s achievements to the Minister, including the port’s serving as the central artery of the country’s economy during the COVID-19 period, the port’s commitment to becoming a ‘green port’ and the startup incubator that currently is being established at the Ashdod Port, in order to turn it into the most state of the art and innovative port in the eastern basin of the Mediterranean Sea. The tour concluded at the highest vantage point – atop the largest and most modern crane in use at any of the Israeli ports, which is installed on the Eitan Terminal, where Regev officially inaugurated the crane as fit for full commercial operation, after the conclusion of the training period.

Orna Hozman-Bechor, Chairperson of the Ashdod Port’s Board of Directors: “The port’s management benefited from the attention and support of the Minister and professional staff at the Ministry of Transportation. Consequently, in the name of the management and the Company’s employees, I wish to thank the Minister for the productive visit and the continual support of the port, while ensuring its continued success and development and securing the future of the employees.”
