Ashdod Port Company registered record high last week, when operating five cranes on a single ship simultaneously. A Yang Ming ship had arrived to the port, planned for execution of unloading along with 3 cranes. At the same time, two more cranes were available at the port, due to delay of arrival time of another ship. In order to make the working process more efficient, the cranes were also recruited for execution of the work on the Yang Ming ship, creating a situation in which five cranes are working on the ship simultaneously.

The unloading rate of the shipping container was very quick, and to the full satisfaction of the customer. In fact, over 50 port crewmen were working on the ship. The idea of operating five cranes at the same time was initiated by Mr. Moshe Novotai, Head of shipping containers department in Ashdod Port Company and Manager of Eitan terminal.
