Corporate Communication Division

Among its areas of responsibility is ongoing contact with the various media channels, ongoing and strong contact with customers, touching organizations, the community and more.

The areas of activity of the public relations and spokesmenship division are:

  • Strengthening, maintaining and developing an initiating alignment of spokesmenship that is active and responds efficiently to evolving events.
  • Maintaining an ongoing and tight contact with the various communication channels.
  • Continuous and tight connection with customers, related organizations and the maritime community.

The major anchors of the division’s operations at the Ashdod Port are:

  • Formation of the communication strategy
  • Forming an overall marketing approach in all aspects of marketing, advertising and public relations.
  • Execution of the communication program.
  • Communicating business steps of the port deriving from the business plan.
  • Crisis management – labor relations, operational problems, security events and others.
  • Initiation of communication steps on a strategic level.
  • Initiation of reportage, interviews and meetings with reporters.
  • Initiation and accompaniment of events, such as the forum of the Sea Community.
  • Creation of cooperation with corporations in the market place. 

Visits and tours in the port

Visits and maritime tours take place at the Ashdod Port daily. During the last year, the number of visitors to the Port of Ashdod reached 15,000, In addition to all the customers and guests of the cruise ships.

The Port of Ashdod serves as a water gate to the State of Israel and part of the border of the State of Israel and therefore any visit to the port must be coordinated in advance.

During the visit to the Port, it is possible to receive detailed explanation of the port and its activities thru guidance at the visitors’ center and an experience visit to the port.

 

The Sea Community

The spokesmenship and external relations division is responsible for the nurturing and basing the relation with all members of the Sea Community Forum. Upon the implementation of the reform in the ports of Israel and the entrance of the new company into operation, the new management initiated the establishment of the forum, composed of the representatives of the organs that maintain business relations with the port. The Sea Community Forum assembles during various events throughout the year, in the port and outside of it, with the intention to improve constantly the service to the port users.

Members of the Forum assemble under a wide common denominator for all those engaged in import and export of cargo from the State of Israel. About 97% of the raw materials and merchandise arriving in Israel make its way to it by sea and therefore it is necessary to coordinate between all work interfaces.

To the Sea Community Forum belong decision makers on various levels, from the public and business sectors. Among them are the Minister of Transportation and Road Safety, the Minister of Finance, The minister of Energy and Infrastructures, the Minister of Environmental Protection, The Shipping and Ports Authority, The Association of Maritime Transport Users, The Shipping Chamber, The Land Transporters and Carriers Association, The Ports of Israel Corporation, The Manufacturers’ Union, Chambers of Commerce, Exporters and Importers, public opinion leaders from the business community and decision makers on the local level including the Ashdod municipality.

 

Internal Organizational Communication

The Ashdod Port Company employs some 1,200 workers, in three shifts, during 24 hours per day. The spokesmenship and external relations division is the arm that connects the organization from within, it spreads information from the port company to the employees in any matter and subject.

 

Ceremonies and Events

The division conducts and produces the ceremonies and events of the port.

We cherish in our hearts the anniversary and commemoration of the terror act in the port and the national Memorial Day ceremonies. Besides those, conferences and events split by target audiences, such as the Sea Community Conference, Annual Customers Conference, Ceremonies proposing a toast for festivals etc.
